Attorney Forms
Although the phrase “attorney forms” might seem to encompass a broad range of contract law and agreements, the layman can understand attorney forms as the backbone of the paperwork required in the day-to-day business of an attorney. This umbrella includes a variety of forms, typically related to litigation issues and procedural writing that must be committed to written form in order to verify the events and agreements these forms describe have truly taken place.
Claim forms, for example, are attorney forms that many lawyers will use in order to file a claim on behalf of a client, such as in the case of a car accident. Deposition forms are another category of legal forms that help an attorney facilitate and complete the deposition process as part of a trial. Obviously, each of these forms is unique and requires a level of specialized verbiage in each distinct form in order for an attorney to properly follow each legal procedure. Settlement agreements are also forms that are commonly used throughout an attorney’s career.
Attorney forms can also refer to the written forms and contracts that make up the attorney’s day-to-day life running a practice; these don’t necessarily have to do with any court proceedings or legal claims, but rather with legal practice management.
An attorney frequently has to turn to many of these forms in representing their clients. The frequency of requiring an expert in a court case, for example, or filing claims on behalf of a client often require that attorneys keep these forms readily available for use.
