Personal Property Rental Agreement (Complex)

This agreement provides a legal basis for an enforceable contract between two parties regarding the rental of personal property. As opposed to the Personal Property Rental Agreement (simple), the complex agreement is designed to be used in situations that call for more attention to potential problems relating to the rental. This generally means situations in which the property is more valuable.

This agreement addresses the following areas of concern:

• The inspection of the property by the renter and the renter’s agreement to use the property in a careful manner
• A warranty by the owner that the property is safe and in good condition
• An indemnity agreement by the renter for damage to the property
• A disclaimer of liability by the owner
• Provisions for a security deposit to cover damages or late rental payments
• An agreement by the renter not to assign or transfer the property
• Responsibility for insuring the property
• Provisions for mediation and arbitration of disputes
