What is a Mechanic’s Lien?

A Mechanic’s Lien, which sometimes is referred to as a Supplier’s Lien or Construction Lien, is a document that will assist suppliers, laborers contractors and subcontractors to collect wages and monies due to them for labor, materials and professional services provided in connection with work on an owners real or even personal property. The Mechanic’s Lien is in effect a special statutory lien against the property worked on filed with the appropriate agency that will remain in effect until such time as all monies are paid.
