When it becomes necessary for a Landlord to notify a Tenant that a month-to-month tenancy is being terminated, the notice must be given in writing. This is both a good practice and is also often required by law and/or by the lease.
This notice should be sent out, hand delivered, posted or sent via certified mail according to local law or the lease agreement. Proper time limits for this notification should also be followed.
