What is an Independent Contractor Agreement?

By | November 27, 2007

An Independent Contractor Agreement is contract formed between an independent contractor and a company requiring the services of the independent contractor. These kind of agreements will set forth terms such as the project, the services to be rendered, the term and length of the agreement, the amount of compensation, the handling of expenses and any other important items. Independent Contractor Agreements are very useful because they help clarify the expectations of all the parties involved. Generally, they also clarify that no employer/employee relation is created through the agreement and reaffirm the independent contractor status.
