What is a Month-to-Month Lease?

By | November 29, 2007

A Month-to-Month Lease Agreement is a type of periodic tenancy that is generally determined by the term of the rent payment i.e. if rent is payable monthly then it might be deemed a month to month tenancy. While laws vary from state to state, a month to month tenancy can be created if there is no written lease agreement. However, sometimes a landlord and a tenant may want to specifically enter into a month to month lease and a written agreement to that effect is very useful. This type of lease form sets forth important terms like theĀ  rental amount, the rights and obligations of the Landlord and Tenant, late fees, security deposits, insurance and more.
