A Rental Application is a form provided by a landlord to a prospective tenant which elicits information that is helpful to the landlord to screen tenants and find out if they will make good responsible tenants. Rental Applications will generally ask about prior rental information and history, credit information, employment information, vehicle information and information about pets. They might also include an authorization to perform a credit and/or a FBI background check. Rental Applications can’t include questions that might violate federal or state law.
