This Discharge of Mortgage is for use by a mortgage holder when a borrower has paid off a mortgage. This document sets out the specific details of the mortgage including the name of the mortgage holder, the name(s) of the borrower, the date of the mortgage, its recording information and the address of the mortgaged property. It specifically sets out that the mortgage has been satisfied and paid in full and that the borrower is released from all obligations to the mortgage holder. It is important that this Discharge of Mortgage be set out in writing in the event there are disputes regarding the mortgage payoff.
